TechCrunch
TechCrunch published a thoughtful profile on designer Summer Powell as a formally trained artist using 3d printing as her medium. “I’d almost become a metal sculptor, and chose graphic design instead because of my love of pattern and symbol,” Powell says, looking back on how she came to 3D printing. “Now I can realize my vision and unite those loves in a 3D medium.”

Examiner
The Examiner published a fantastic interview with designer Summer Powell. “Some of my pieces, such as the Faceted Ovals Necklace reference glamorous, baroque jewelry. Yet they are also minimal an ethereal — three-dimensional drawings that describe the space held by sumptuous gems. They evoke sparkly bright gems, yet they’re matte, and the lines often create a very op-art feeling. Other pieces, such as theAndromeda Necklace, feel both natural and artificial, like ice formations or the 1980’s Asteroids video game.
