I miss Flapper! But these guys were really cuddly. Fruit bats are really cute up close, looking like little foxes, and are soft and fuzzy, except for the leathery wings.
And I had no idea mongooses (mongeese?) were so cute and cuddly.
I miss you Beek! You too Kat!
my daughter and I were surfing and came across your site – wonderful photos! alot to see and learn. we would like to know what the furry beasties are that you are holding in the above photo. They are really cute!
Hi there,
Thank you for the compliment. The furry ones are Mongooses (I looked it up — Mongeese is not the plural). They were cuddly and cute, but are apparently illegal to bring into the US as they would kill native wildlife.
The other animals are a toucan and fruit bat. We were allowed to feed the fruit bats some mango.
flapper is soooooo pissed (read: jealous).
They look so huggable. Rather rufus-sized. In fact, I wish I could give you a hug, too.
