In California, the joy of the momentous civil rights milestone that was our election was tempered by a loss of civil rights for gays, as it seems Proposition 8 will pass. On our way to dinner last night, we drove by a long procession of Proposition 8 protesters on Market Street. California voters can sign a petition to re-open Prop 8 here.
